Sr. Software Engineer

Description

Tyler Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to help build our next-generation Civil Process platform. Civil Process is a complete civil process solution that supports agencies from document receipt through payment and final closeout.

This position is primarily focused on backend engineering with C# and .NET, although opportunities exist to contribute to the Angular front end. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, product stakeholders, and designers to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable capabilities in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native application services using C# and .NET.
• Build and maintain well-designed REST APIs and integrations.
• Contribute to Angular and TypeScript development based on team needs and experience.
• Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Participate in architectural and technical design decisions, considering performance, reliability, security, data requirements, scalability, and user experience.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Diagnose and resolve complex application and production issues.
• Improve automated testing, continuous integration, deployment, observability, and overall software delivery practices.
• Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with other members of the engineering team.
• Collaborate with the team to plan work, manage technical tradeoffs, and deliver meaningful customer outcomes.
• Stay current with relevant technologies and recommend improvements where they provide measurable value.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience developing enterprise applications with C# and .NET.
• Experience designing and building APIs and backend services.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Understanding of software design principles, automated testing, and secure development practices.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.
• Must be able to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint-based background check in accordance with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience designing event-driven or distributed systems.
• Experience with public cloud services, preferably AWS.
• Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Amazon EKS.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience building cloud-native, multi-tenant software-as-a-service applications.
• Familiarity with application monitoring, observability, and production support.
