JOB DUTIES/ POSITION DESCRIPTION

Hirezon, LLC in Westborough, MA seeks Sr. Software Engineer-Enterprise Platform Modernization and Architecture to design, develop, modernize, test, deploy, document and maintain Hirezon's multi-tenant HR technology SaaS platform supporting applicant tracking, recruiting, on-boarding, talent management, workflow automation, bulk communications, secure document management and applicant review workflows.  Requires brownfield modernization of a long-running Java/J2EE/JSP/Servlet, Tomcat, Spring, Hibernate, SQL Server, JavaScript, and Angular platform while maintaining production continuity across clustered application nodes. Design asynchronous queue-based processing and REST APIs; assume end-to-end ownership of solution design, rollout, production support, and on-call responsibilities and support deployments across Rackspace, AWS, and Azure environments.  Develop and integrate AI-enabled application capabilities, including semantic search, recruiting workflow applications, document analysis, and related technologies that support modernization of the Hirezon platform.

Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Requires Proof of Experience with:

• Developing production enterprise applications using Java, JSP, Servlets, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, SQL Server or comparable relational databases, REST APIs, JavaScript, and Angular or comparable modern web frameworks
• Modernizing/enhancing mature legacy or brownfield enterprise software platforms by integrating new technologies to effect architectural change while maintaining operational continuity and system reliability.
• Owning end-to-end design, rollout, production support, on-call support, operational troubleshooting, and post-deployment stabilization of enterprise software systems.
• Developing or supporting large-scale multi-tenant SaaS applications with tenant-aware configuration, permissions, data isolation, or feature controls.
• Designing and supporting distributed systems, asynchronous queue-based processing, message-driven workflows, idempotent processing, database lease/locking coordination, scheduler coordination, or equivalent multi-node work-distribution patterns.
• Developing enterprise integrations and REST API services connecting legacy systems, cloud services, document stores, ticketing/workflow systems, or external service providers.
• Implementing production reliability patterns such as circuit breakers, retry/backoff, external-service isolation, background processing, graceful degradation, monitoring, alerting, or performance optimization.
• Implementing application security, authentication, authorization, auditing, secure document access, and protection of sensitive applicant, employee, customer, or regulated data.
• Deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications in cloud or hosted environments such as Rackspace, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Tomcat clusters, or comparable infrastructure.
• Technically leading engineering teams through legacy-system integration, architecture modernization, code reviews, technical design reviews, and mentoring software engineers

Requires Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.

Foreign degrees accepted plus 7 years' experience in software engineering or related occupation.

Position is based at Hirezon's Westborough, MA office and is not a remote position. 

On-site presence is required five (5) days per week.
