Sr. Software Engineer - Back-End

Overview: We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with extensive development experience to build backend software, analyze existing applications, and develop automated testing capabilities. This role requires proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and at least one additional backend programming language, along with strong Linux, shell scripting, and network analysis skills.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with extensive development experience to build backend software, analyze existing applications, and develop automated testing capabilities. This role requires proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and at least one additional backend programming language, along with strong Linux, shell scripting, and network analysis skills.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain backend software and supporting tools.

• Develop applications and automation using Python, JavaScript, and additional backend programming languages.

• Analyze unfamiliar source code to identify relevant data fields, understand application logic, and reproduce software behavior.

• Build software system testing harnesses or implement continuous testing methodologies to validate functionality and reliability.

• Install and configure Linux environments from scratch to support development and testing.

• Develop and maintain complex Unix shell scripts for automation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Analyze network traffic to understand client/server communications, request structures, and application interactions.

• Develop and manage AWS infrastructure as code using AWS CDK.

• Document technical findings, software behavior, testing approaches, and system configurations.

Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required. 

• Extensive hands-on experience in software development.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Python and JavaScript.

• Ability to program efficiently in at least one additional backend programming language beyond Python and JavaScript.

• Demonstrated experience analyzing unfamiliar software code, extracting relevant fields, and determining how to reproduce its behavior.

• Experience developing a software system testing harness or implementing a continuous testing methodology.

• Demonstrated experience installing Linux from scratch and developing complex Unix shell scripts.

• Experience analyzing network traffic to understand client/server communications and requests.

• Demonstrated experience using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills.
