Job Title: Backend/API Developer
We are seeking a skilled Backend/API Developer with a strong foundation in Java programming to join our team as a contractor. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in backend development, focusing on building robust and scalable APIs. This role requires a deep understanding of Java and its frameworks, as well as a passion for developing high quality software solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java.
Collaborate with front end developers to integrate user facing elements with server side logic.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing applications and services.
Work with databases and data storage solutions to ensure data integrity and performance.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance development processes.
Document development processes, code changes, and technical specifications.
Mandatory Skills:
Strong proficiency in Java programming (Java 8 or higher).
Experience with RESTful API design and development.
Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot or Java EE.
Solid understanding of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Understanding of security best practices in API development.
Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5 7 years of professional experience in backend development.
Proven track record of delivering high quality software solutions on time.
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
