    Job Title: Senior Security Engineer - Security Operations

    Duration: 12+ Month Contract-to-Hire

    Location: Blue Ash, OH - 100% Onsite, 5 Days/Week

    Job Summary:Our client is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support day-to-day Security Operations, with a strong focus on security investigations and incident response. This is a senior-level individual contributor role responsible for investigating complex security events, leading containment and remediation efforts, and serving as an escalation point for high-priority incidents.

    The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across Security Operations, incident response, security investigations, SIEM/EDR tooling, and incident containment, along with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Project Details:The Senior Security Engineer will support the client's Security Operations function, focusing on improving incident response capabilities and operational maturity across endpoint, cloud, identity, and other security environments.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Investigate security alerts, events, and complex security incidents.
    • Lead or support containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
    • Serve as an escalation point for complex security incidents.
    • Develop, maintain, and improve security playbooks and runbooks.
    • Work with Detection teams to improve alerts, detections, enrichment, and automated response.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve logging, visibility, and incident response readiness.
    • Mentor junior Security Operations team members.
    • Contribute to tabletop exercises, security audits, detection improvements, and overall operational maturity.

    Must Haves

    • Strong hands-on experience in Security Operations, security investigations, and incident response.

    • Proven experience investigating and responding to security events and incidents.

    • Hands-on experience with containment, eradication, and recovery activities.

    • Experience working with security alerts and detections.

    • Experience developing or maintaining security playbooks and/or runbooks.

    • Working knowledge of Security Operations tools, including:

    • SIEM / SOAR

    • EDR

    • Email Security Gateways

    • Firewalls

    • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to analyze complex security situations and determine appropriate response actions.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to explain technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Demonstrated leadership within a senior individual contributor role.

    • Experience mentoring junior Security Operations/security team members.

    • Must be willing to work onsite 5 days/week in Blue Ash, OH.

    • USC or GC only.

    Desired Skills

    • Experience with Detection Engineering.
    • Experience with security rule and alert tuning.
    • Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework and mapping detections/security activity to tactics and techniques.
    • Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
    • Familiarity with Google Security Operations.
    • Experience contributing to tabletop exercises.
    • Experience supporting or participating in security audits.
    • Experience improving security detection, enrichment, automation, and incident response processes.
