    At Schwab, Securities Lending is a strategy designed to raise additional revenue from existing client assets. Securities Lending Technology is responsible for partnering with our business to fulfill this strategy via multiple internal and vendor applications. This team is responsible for designing and implementing increased operational speed and efficiency; more accessible and reliable data; tighter governance to enforce usage and quality standards; greater focus on value-add analysis work; and reduced risk in an expanding regulatory environment.

    We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team. This role combines strong software development skills with a passion for quality assurance and automation. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, collaborate with developers and business system analysts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. You will be working with a team of talented technologists and SMEs who bring a lot of energy, focus and fresh ideas that support our mission to provide value by seeing the world "Through Clients'' Eyes."

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, and REST APIs.
    • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code for test automation using .NET frameworks
    • Perform API testing using tools like REST Assured, Bruno, and Postman.
    • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, GitHub Actions, etc.).
    • Collaborate with developers, BSAs, and product teams in Agile environments.
    • Conduct performance and security testing using JMeter and vulnerability scanning tools.
    • Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts and test failures.
    • Participate in code reviews and advocate for best testing practices.
    • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

    What you have

    • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Hands on experience gained through 4-5+ years in a software development role creating and maintaining business applications.
    • Strong experience with modern .NET frameworks v6+ as well as C# v10+.
    • Experience with other full stack application development technologies REST Web Services, JSON/XML and Relational (SQL/Oracle) databases including data warehouses.
    • Strong fundamentals in relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
    • Experience in an Agile development environment
    • Knowledge of the financial services industry.
    • The ability to work independently and to effectively interact and collaborate with all types of stakeholders, both technical and business, peers, and leaders.
    • The ability work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
    • The ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies.
    • Strong customer focus with a sense of ownership and determination to drive solutions in a collaborative environment.

    In addition to the base pay range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
