Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Sr. Scientist  with a multinational science and technology company in Sunnyvale, CA. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.


Pay:$52.00 - $62.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.


Description
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design, set up and execute complex experiments including data collection, summary, and critical analysis to meet project, department, and company objectives.
• Apply analytical problem-solving skills and strategies for the development of complex in vitro diagnostic real time PCR and RT-PCR tests for infectious diseases.
• Perform rigorous analytical studies required to demonstrate technical feasibility of complex assays.
• Provide data driven direction and guidance to junior scientific colleagues.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• PhD in a Biological Science field (e.g. Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or a related field) with 2+ years of industry related experience or academic equivalent.
• Spearhead feasibility, optimization, verification and validation of molecular diagnostic assays targeting human pathogens. Experience working with microorganisms involved in infectious diseases.
• Ability to balance multiple studies and priorities at the same time with experience in synthesizing and interpreting large-scale experimental data (PCR/qPCR, sanger sequencing).
• Experience in performing nucleic acid extraction/purification, handling microbiological and clinical specimens, and working in a BSL-2 environment.
