Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety & Environmental (S&E) Professional to support and strengthen a proactive safety and sustainability culture within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations, and promoting a workplace where risks are proactively identified and eliminated.

The position will conduct job hazard, ergonomic, accident, and loss-data analyses to identify potential risks and recommend effective corrective and preventive actions. The individual will also develop and deliver safety and environmental training for employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, and visitors.

The role will support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs, participate in audits and inspections, maintain regulatory and corporate records, coordinate emergency response activities, and assist with accident investigations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Safety & Environmental experience in a manufacturing environment, a Bachelor’s degree, strong communication and presentation skills, and a solid understanding of safety, environmental, and ISO standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Candidate will help drive the culture that every incident is avoidable and that being proactive in detecting and eliminating risk is everyone's responsibility.
  • Develops and publishes safety and environmental programs consistent with regulations and company policy.
  • Develops and conducts training for associates, managers, supervisors, other employees, visitors and contractors in the areas of general safety and environmental awareness, specific program requirements, and specific job requirements.
  • Perform job hazard and Ergonomic analysis to identify loss potential of our systems and processes.
  • Review and interpret loss data to discover causative agents and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Review and revise location standards, policies, and practices as necessary to assure they are current and in concert with company and / or regulatory requirements under OSHA, EPA, DOT.
  • Assists with maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 program requirements and certification.
  • Assists with accident investigations to ascertain causes to develop preventive safety measures and programs.
  • Review and evaluate technical developments to measure applicability to our processes.
  • Maintains required records, prepares reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit implementation by effected personnel.
  • Organize and coordinate emergency response.
  • Participates in audits and inspections of the location to ensure company objectives and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Participated in the S&E Committee.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree preferably with a focus on Safety, Health, and Environment.
  • 5+ years of practical experience in Safety and Environmental in a manufacturing environment.
  • Clear and effective communication skills with ability to present to others.
  • Self-motivated, confident professional that wants to join a team environment in a company that pursuits a strong safety and sustainable development culture.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
