Essential Duties:

  • Design and develop novel electrolyte formulations for advanced energy storage applications, optimizing ionic conductivity, electrochemical stability, and thermal performance across candidate chemical systems.
  • Conduct electrochemical testing and characterization to evaluate candidate formulations.
  • Screen additive packages and co-solvents for compatibility, stability, and performance contribution; evaluate thermal behavior, physical properties, and material compatibility across candidate formulations.
  • Generate ideas for new products and services; create development proposals, conception records, and lead projects through Agile Stage and Gate product development from proposal through launch.
  • Develop new products and test methods; obtain patents and publish technical papers to enhance TETRA's leadership among industry peer groups; contribute to IP documentation and invention disclosures.
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols and adhere to all relevant HSEQ regulations, norms, and standards.

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline
  • EXPERIENCE: 5+ years experience in developing new products and processes; experience with electrolyte or solution-phase chemistry for energy storage applications; hands-on experience with electrochemical testing techniques
  • TRAVEL: 5%
