At Leo, we are obsessed with customer trust and are seeking an individual contributor who is creative, and passionate about delivering Governance, Risk and Compliance solutions to meet Leo"s regulatory and external assurance needs. In this role, you will work collaboratively with various business and security teams across Amazon to identify compliance needs, assess the maturity of processes and controls, design, build, and execute high-impact security or compliance programs and liaise with external auditors and regulators.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Arlington, VA, USA

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Design and drive scalable processes within a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework to ensure compliance with Leo"s regulatory and privacy requirements.

  2. Build and maintain a global regulatory compliance program covering NIS2, DORA, the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (SOCI), the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and other applicable regulations - including identifying requirements, assessing gaps, developing remediation strategies, and driving remediation activities to completion.

  3. Drive regulatory assurance programs by liaising with external regulators and other Amazon security teams, articulating control implementation and impact, and establishing frameworks for applying security and risk concepts within a highly technical and complex environment.

  4. Communicate to key stakeholders and leadership on regulatory requirements, compliance program metrics, key risks, and areas for program improvement; proactively seek diverse perspectives and coordinate improvement efforts.

  5. Work closely with Engineering, Regulatory, Legal, Security, and Business Development teams to identify future compliance and regulatory requirements and define solutions.

  6. Serve as a subject matter advisor on regulatory issues, providing guidance to internal teams on compliance obligations and risk management considerations.

  7. Understand and manage cross-functional GRC requirements, translating them into actionable configurations within the GRC tool.

  8. Demonstrate comfort with hands-on, day-to-day problem solving and the ability to implement quick, effective action plans to address both short- and long-term priorities.

About the Company

A

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
