Job Designation The Senior Quality Engineer provides a range of expertise to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed. They lead statistical data analysis and process control implementation to ensure continuous improvement is effective and optimum yield is achieved and maintained.
Job Core Responsibilities
Identify and ensure inspection compliance to all blueprint characteristics
Analyze process data to identify key process indicators, trends, deviations and opportunities for improvement
Establish, communicate and monitor key process indicators
Leads cross functional team to investigate process defects and implement corrective actions and drive process yield improvements / reduction of variability
Conduct capability studies (Cp / Cpk) and support validation for new processes
Develop and maintain documentation including control plans, inspection procedures
Reviews and creates inspection forms, records, techniques and procedures for accuracy and relevance and provide changes when necessary
Collaborate with engineering to update work instructions as needed
Foster compliance with internal and external requirements by means of addressing issues preventing the meeting of yield targets
Supports audits and compliance with quality standards
Train technicians and engineers in SPC techniques and quality tools to foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
May occasionally need to work a variable schedule with additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications:
Education: Post-secondary degree in Engineering and relevant work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Six sigma certified (Black belt preferred)
Years Experience: 7+ years of experience in quality or process engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Skills :
Demonstrated analytical skills to proactively identify and solve problems using DMAIC methodology or equivalent problem-solving technique.
Knowledge of complex Quality Engineering processes and Statistical Process Control (SPC) with data acquisition systems
Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
Advanced knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering and reading blueprints
Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes or services
Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range:120K-$130K
