Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager - Glazing to lead and deliver complex glazing, curtain wall and storefront projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of glass systems with strong project management, client-facing skills, and proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and multidisciplinary field operations in commercial construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycle for glazing, curtain wall, storefront and related glass systems projects, from preconstruction and estimating through procurement, installation and closeout.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, cash-flow projections and subcontractor/vendor procurement to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate design-assist and shop drawing processes, review submittals, and ensure compliance with specifications, building codes and performance requirements.
- Serve as primary client and design-team contact; maintain proactive communication to manage expectations, resolve issues and foster long-term relationships.
- Oversee onsite field operations, including quality control, safety compliance, subcontractor coordination and troubleshooting of glazing installation challenges.
- Perform risk management by identifying potential issues early, developing mitigation plans, and executing contingency strategies when needed.
- Prepare and deliver regular project reports, forecasts and executive summaries to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with estimating, engineering and procurement teams to support accurate takeoffs, change-order pricing and value engineering opportunities.
- Mentor and develop junior project managers and field supervisors, promoting best practices for construction management and technical installation.
- Lead project closeout activities including punchlists, warranty documentation, as-built drawings and final client handover.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial construction experience with at least 5 years managing glazing, curtain wall and storefront projects.
- Technical expertise with glazing systems, curtain walls, storefronts, structural glass, sealants, anchors and related installation methods.
- Proven track record managing project budgets of substantial value, schedule control and subcontractor performance.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, industry standards (AAMA, NFRC, ASTM), and glazing performance testing requirements.
- Proficiency with construction management software (MS Project, Procore or similar), MS Office; experience with CAD/BIM a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and client management skills; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and resolve conflicts constructively.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety; OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent preferred and experience enforcing site safety programs.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
