Our client is a boutique project management and development advisory firm specializing in multifamily housing and other complex real estate developments. The firm operates with a lean, entrepreneurial structure that provides employees with flexibility, independence, and direct collaboration with ownership.

Job Description

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Serving as the primary Owner's Project Manager for multiple development projects, acting as the lead point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Managing projects ranging from approximately $75M to $200M in value across multifamily, hospitality, healthcare, nonprofit, cultural, and commercial sectors.
  • Leading development teams through planning, design, preconstruction, construction, and project closeout.
  • Overseeing project budgets, financial reporting, contracts, and overall project execution.
  • Coordinating consultant and vendor selection, including architects, engineers, sustainability specialists, and construction teams.
  • Managing entitlement, permitting, historic preservation, and regulatory approval processes.
  • Participating in meetings and hearings with municipalities, agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Supporting affordable housing initiatives, tax credit programs, historic rehabilitation efforts, and sustainability goals.
  • Evaluating project risks, facilitating decision-making, and proactively resolving conflicts among stakeholders.
  • Guiding major project decisions related to construction methods, mechanical systems, project delivery strategies, and schedule management.
  • Managing portfolios of approximately 5 to 7 projects depending on complexity and project phase.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, and industry partners throughout the region.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Sr. Project Manager should have:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Project Executive within construction management, owner's project management, or development.
  • Strong background managing multifamily residential projects, ideally including both affordable and market-rate housing.
  • Experience overseeing budgets, contracts, procurement strategies, and project financial performance.
  • Ability to lead complex project teams and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Understanding of preconstruction, design management, and construction execution.
  • Knowledge of the New England development and construction market and key industry stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Teams, document management systems, and digital project workflows.
  • Willingness to travel for project-related meetings, site visits, and stakeholder engagements throughout the region.
