The Sr. Project Engineer, Energy for Remanufacturing is responsible for supporting the development of new processes and carrying out each trial exactly to the established product specification. This includes managing the program from early prototype builds through to the launch of the production line. The primary role of the Project Engineer will be to test and validate systems and parts involved in product development and manufacturing to ensure products are of the highest quality. To support this, the Project Engineer will also establish validation standards, develop testing protocols, prepare equipment, document test results and maintain records. The Project Engineer will identify, report, and adjust equipment or processes that require improvement. This role will also take point on equipment readiness for all launching and pilot lines in Energy Remanufacturing.

  • Assist in validating manufacturing processes to ensure product specifications and standards are achieved
  • Lead manufacturing line trials for new products and processes
  • Manage quality assurance and procedures by testing and validating systems and parts; Assist in establishing and implementing new validation standards, and procedures
  • Ensure part availability, line readiness, and pre-requisite data obtained and consolidated. Document observations, analysis, and results, make recommendations as needed and drive solutions. Record all issues found during trials and help drive to closure
  • Ensure manufacturing lines are validated and/or restored to prior condition post-trial(s). Evaluate the success of each trial (yield, downtime, cost, safety, etc.)
  • Develop and improve equipment validation procedures including calibration and qualification for both pilot line and production line equipment, ensuring that safety and quality are built into the process
  • Expert level trainer on all machines in assigned areas and be responsible for the level of knowledge of shift Technicians. Provide hands-on support to maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve extended downtime situations
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on trials to ensure proper validation procedures are followed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the best processes roll-out
  • Track all trial details in PCA tracking system for approvals. Lead and provide feedback in change control meetings. Govern, and ensure core KPI targets are met in Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost
  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in remanufacturing, NPI, or product development
  • Experience commissioning and improving equipment for new product introduction. Demonstrated track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance activities in production ramp environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly. Able to utilize structured problem-solving techniques such as DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W), or Eight Disciplines (8D) to resolve high-level performance issues into addressable actions during NPI phases
  • Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Data Analytics, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Understanding of manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods, and NPI lifecycle (A-SOP phases)
  • Understanding or knowledge of BOM management and MOS configuration for new product launches (good to have, not required)
  • Data analysis skills with ability to interpret and leverage data for process improvement and create dashboards to track NPI metrics and production readiness
  • Skillful with electrical and computer-based tools, including precision measuring equipment, electrical test equipment, and computer databases used in NPI development
  • Experience supporting, maintaining, and modifying pilot line equipment to support development efforts for multiple remanufacturing programs simultaneously
  • Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, supply chain, quality) within a manufacturing organization, with exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous NPI activities and competing priorities
