As a Senior Cost Specialist – Project Controls, you will drive cost performance across large-scale, multi-year EPC construction projects. This role requires hands-on experience in EPC construction cost controls and Earned Value Management (EVM), including EAC, ETC, CPI, SPI, forecasting, and variance analysis. You’ll partner closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Construction teams to identify risks, improve cost visibility, and support successful project delivery.

What You'll Do:
  • Track and control costs across EPC industrial projects
  • Leverage JD Edwards, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for job cost tracking and reporting
  • Manage budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends across multi-year capital programs
  • Develop and maintain EACs and ETCs to support forecasting and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting
  • Analyze CPI (Cost Performance Index) and SPI (Schedule Performance Index) to assess project performance and identify risks early
  • Support change management including change orders, budget adjustments, and cost impacts
  • Provide EVM-based dashboards, cost reports, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Project Controls Execution Plans and company standards
  • Act as a trusted cost advisor, supporting continuous improvement in cost performance management
What You'll Bring:
  • 4+ years of project cost controls experience with EPC construction projects — required
  • Hands-on EPC construction experience is required; candidates without direct EPC construction project experience will not be considered
  • Hands-on Earned Value Management (EVM) experience is required, including practical use of CPI, SPI, EAC, ETC, and variance analysis
  • Strong experience with cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/schedule performance analysis
  • Experience supporting large-scale, multi-year capital projects in utility, energy, infrastructure, or heavy industrial construction
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with JD Edwards (JDE) and/or EcoSys required; Procore preferred
  • Ability to analyze cost and schedule data and translate it into clear, actionable insights for Project Managers and leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field

Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $103,000.00/Yr. - USD $158,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications. Equal Opportunity Employer:
