Sr. Production Planner

• Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules to ensure a controlled flow of raw and approved finished goods materials timed to meet production requirements.
  

• Advise management on the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential supply or production disruptions to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
  

• Schedule equipment and personnel, confirm material supply and demand, and prepare work orders or purchase requests for production or purchase of components or parts based on master production schedules, shop load, and inventory requirements.
  

• Coordinate interdepartmental activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Traffic, and Demand Planning teams.
  

• Expedite the movement of parts through move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
  

Project-Specific Goals for NPI Support: 

• Execute strategic purchasing of raw material needed from validation through production.
  

• Plan and allocate production line capacity for validation and production start dates.
  

• Oversee and support the planning process during the ramp-up (hypercare phase) of the new product.
  

• Complete training and transition (handshake) with the resource who will assume responsibility for the new item.
  

• Control inventory levels and proactively prevent SOGL (Slow or Obsolete Goods and Lines).

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant production planning experience, preferably supporting manufacturing environments and new product introductions.
  
• Bachelor’s Degree completed (in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred)
  

Must Have:

• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  
• Experience using Blue Yonder
  
• Knowledge of SAP
  

Nice to Have:

• Accurate inventory management skills
  
• Familiarity with DMAIC problem-solving methodology
  
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
