The Powertrain High Voltage Design & Integration team is responsible for cross-functional optimization of Tesla vehicle powertrain hardware implementations, including the Semi and next generation vehicles. Team members are expected to utilize their physics fundamentals, hardware optimization thinking, and common sense to facilitate multi-objective optimization and communicate performance expectations and component requirements to various teams. This role involves collaboration with system architecture engineering, manufacturing, reliability, service, safety, finance, and compliance teams. Requires the ability to distill highly technical information and effectively communicate with other teams and management.

Responsibilities:

• Work with multiple teams to identify, propose, document, and verify performance of high voltage components to achieve system goals. • Own development of requirements at system boundaries, capturing regulatory and internal performance, safety requirements. • Cascade powertrain component requirements to subsystems. • Track analysis and decisions for evolving products, including key architecture decisions and variants. • Develop and communicate system-level strategies, such as EMC, NVH, fault current handling. • Generate block diagrams of system architectures in vehicles and related products.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. • High volume product experience. • Strong communication skills and preference for working in teams. • Shows evidence of driving product design with specifications and/or requirements. • Detail-oriented personality with effective documentation and reporting skills. • Experience solving open-ended engineering problems. • Familiarity with EV powertrain architecture and integration is a bonus.

Expected Compensation:

The total compensation package for this position may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected annual salary range is $104,000 - $348,000, with cash and stock awards and benefits.
