Job Title: Sr. Power BI / Microsoft Fabric Developer

Role Overview
Sr. Power BI / Microsoft Fabric Developer to design and deliver enterprise-grade business intelligence solutions. This role will gather reporting requirements, build scalable semantic models, and develop high-impact dashboards and reports that translate complex data into clear, actionable insight. The ideal candidate combines expert-level Power BI and DAX skills with hands-on experience across Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, and is comfortable operating independently to deliver production-quality solutions in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power BI reports and semantic models.
- Create efficient data models, relationships, calculations, and KPIs using DAX.
- Use Power Query and SQL to transform, validate, and prepare data for reporting.
- Integrate Power BI with Microsoft Fabric and Databricks data sources.
- Optimize report, query, refresh, and semantic-model performance.
- Implement appropriate data security, including workspace permissions and row-level security.
- Document report logic, data sources, calculations, refresh processes, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and platform teams to resolve data-quality and reporting issues.
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level experience with Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service.
- Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, and report design.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, aggregations, common table expressions, and performance optimization.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse or Warehouse, OneLake, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and semantic models.
- Experience designing scalable dimensional or star-schema data models.
- Experience connecting Power BI to Databricks, including Databricks SQL warehouses.
- Knowledge of data security, governance, access controls, and secure authentication practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder-communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver production-quality solutions within agreed timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS data and analytics services, particularly Amazon S3, IAM, AWS Glue, and Amazon Redshift.
- Experience working with cloud-based lakehouse or data-platform architectures.
- Familiarity with deployment pipelines, source control, release management, and automated testing.
- Relevant Microsoft Power BI or Fabric certifications.
- Previous experience delivering enterprise reporting solutions in a contractor or consulting capacity.
