Trident Consulting is seeking a " Senior Policy Manager” for one of our clients in New York City NY, A global leader in largest ridesharing.

Location: New York City NY (Hybrid)
Type: Contract
Rate: $85/hr on w2

Client is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join our Policy team, based in New York City. The Senior Manager will be an instrumental member of the team in charting strategic growth opportunities, developing new local partnerships, and interfacing directly with state and city leaders, with a focus on the growth and success of the Bike program. The Senior Manager, who reports into the Director of Policy, will be dealing with regulatory and government issues as a pivotal part of the organization's mission to eliminate private car ownership and foster public policies that reclaim streets for people.

Responsibilities
  • Represent the organization in all interactions with elected officials, government officials, and staff through face-to-face meetings, events, and remote lobbying.
  • Attend high-profile events with key elected or appointed leaders in person.
  • Create and execute public policy and advocacy strategies to improve the regulatory environment for the Bike program.
  • Track legislation relevant to the organization at municipal, county, and state levels by engaging elected officials directly at City Halls and State Houses.
  • Work cross-functionally with senior management on developing public policy priorities that advance operations and business interests.
  • Work closely with legal, compliance, marketing, communications, and operations teams on developing market strategy.
  • Lead or co-lead one to two internal policy workstreams with a national scope.
  • Manage a team of external policy consultants to schedule face-to-face meetings with elected officials, track legislation, and carry out lobbying campaigns in support of business priorities.

Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in policy, government affairs, campaigns, and/or business development.
  • Strong existing transportation, government, and advocacy relationships.
  • Proven entrepreneurial and scrappy spirit.
  • Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, and sometimes unstructured environment. Ability to prioritize and execute while maintaining long-term strategic focus.
  • Self-starter; intrinsically motivated but also a good teammate.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals and drive results.
  • Natural connector and relationship builder.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including last-minute travel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong presentation and advocacy abilities.
  • Passion for transportation, public transit, urban planning, politics, and sustainability.
