    Senior Plumbing/Fire Suppression Engineer

    Job Summary:

    The role of the Senior Plumbing/Fire Suppression Engineer is to provide engineering design, evaluation, and documentation of plumbing and fire suppression systems as well as oversee and instruct junior level staff.  The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, life sciences, academic, industrial, and corporate commercial projects.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Design plumbing systems including medical/laboratory piping and gases
    • Design performance specification fire protection systems
    • Develop systems design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
    • Prepare detailed design documents
    • Write/edit project specifications
    • Be responsible for code compliance research
    • Coordinate work with other disciplines
    • Work on site surveys to determine and document existing conditions
    • Provide construction administration services

    Qualifications and Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not required.
    • A minimum of 15 years design experience
    • PE is preferred but not required
    • Certified in Plumbing design (CPD) accreditation is preferred but not required.
    • ASSE 6060 Medical Gas design accreditation is preferred but not required.
    • Experience in Fire Suppression System design
    • Experience with Healthcare and Life Sciences is preferred.
    • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office
    • Familiarity with Plumbing codes, NFPA standards, and Healthcare design guidelines
    • Excellent work ethic and attitude
    • Good written and auditory communication and time management skills
    • Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize life work balance.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    The expected base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $145,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
