Sr. Platform Engineer - TS/SCI

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer - TS/SCI for a world leading technology organization in the Reston, VA area. The Sr. Platform Engineer - TS/SCI role is a hybrid position. The Sr. Platform Engineer - TS/SCI will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and cloud‑native technologies. An ideal candidate for the Sr. Platform Engineer - TS/SCI role is a senior‑level engineer with deep experience supporting mission‑critical systems in highly secure environments.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Platform Engineer - TS/SCI:

• Design, develop, and maintain platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Architect and support Kubernetes‑based platforms for containerized applications in secure environments.
• Develop automation and tooling, including Python‑based solutions, to enhance platform reliability and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, and security teams to enable scalable and compliant platform services.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and platform operations.
• Ensure platform solutions meet security, compliance, and performance requirements for classified systems.

Qualifications of the Sr. Platform Engineer - TS/SCI:

• 7+ years of experience in platform engineering
• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Terraform and Terragrunt for Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience deploying, managing, and scaling Kubernetes environments.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and tooling development.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP in secure or regulated environments.

Compensation for the Sr. Platform Engineer - TS/SCI includes:

• Salary range: $190,000 - $275,000
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law
