Position Overview
The Sr. National Account Manager plays a critical role in driving sales growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across major retail and grocery accounts, with a strong emphasis on Walmart and Sam's Club. This role is responsible for both shaping and executing sales strategies, developing omni-channel approaches, and building long-term partnerships with national retailers. By leveraging deep industry knowledge and account expertise, the National Retail Account Manager ensures successful product placement, promotional execution, and market expansion while aligning with the company's long-term strategic objectives.Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with national retail and grocery customers by conducting account HQ sales calls and delivering formal presentations of pricing, products, and promotions.Analyze customer and market trends to identify growth opportunities and implement strategies that maximize account potential.Develop and execute omni-channel sales strategies that meet or exceed sales targets, achieve KPIs, and resolve customer issues effectively.Coordinate and manage national retail account resets and new store setups, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with customer expectations.Participate in the Price Committee to shape competitive pricing and trade promotional programs that support strategic goals.Represent the company at trade shows and industry events to strengthen market presence and foster new business opportunities.Contribute to the company's long-term strategic initiatives, including the 5-year strategic plan, annual operating plan, promotions, and new product launches.Prepare periodic sales reports to monitor sales performance, trends, and potential areas for expansion.Partner with Marketing to design and execute market-wide and account-specific plans for promotions, new items, and limited-time offers.Support inventory planning, promotional program execution, pricing evaluations, and marketing audits.May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field required.7+ years of successful CPG sales experience in the retail/grocery industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong knowledge of retail systemsValid driver's license required.Membership in a trade-related association preferred.Proven track record in advanced account management with demonstrated sales success.Internal Only: Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
