About the Role

The Sr Business Development Manager, Medical Verticals is an individual contributor responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring, activating, and expanding strategic partnerships across priority healthcare segments, including med spa and aesthetics, veterinary, fertility, ophthalmology, wellness, and other elective medical categories.
You will own complex opportunities from market development through commercial close, launch, and ongoing growth while helping Happen Bank strengthen its position in the medical purchase finance market. Success in this role requires healthcare market fluency, strong commercial judgment, disciplined execution, and the ability to lead cross-functional work without direct authority

What You'll Do

Own and deliver growth across assigned medical verticals

  • Develop and execute vertical, account acquisition, and expansion plans aligned with Purchase Finance growth priorities

  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of high-value national and regional medical groups, multi-site providers, management services organizations, and strategic partners

  • Lead the full business development cycle from prospecting and discovery through solution design, negotiation, contracting, launch, and expansion

  • Build trusted relationships with executive, clinical, financial, technology, and operational decision-makers

  • Structure commercial solutions that create measurable value for partners, patients, and Happen Bank

Build medical-market expertise and differentiated solutions

  • Use market data, provider economics, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to prioritize the highest-impact segments and opportunities

  • Understand the patient financing journey, procedure economics, provider workflows, and multi-location operating models within assigned medical verticals

  • Translate market and partner insights into recommendations that improve product positioning, credit strategy, go-to-market execution, and internal workflows

  • Represent Happen Bank at medical industry events, associations, and conferences to strengthen relationships and identify emerging growth opportunities

Lead cross-functional deal execution and partner activation

  • Partner with Product, Credit, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Finance, Technology, and Operations to evaluate opportunities and remove barriers

  • Coordinate implementation requirements, onboarding, training, launch planning, and partner communications

  • Ensure commercial solutions align with applicable healthcare, consumer lending, privacy, risk, and compliance requirements

  • Monitor activation, applications, approvals, conversion, funded volume, product adoption, and partner performance after launch

  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, deal plans, and performance reporting in CRM and related tools

About You

  • 7+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, including enterprise or national account ownership in healthcare, fintech, financial services, or another complex industry

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated success independently owning complex sales cycles and delivering measurable revenue growth

  • Ability to develop vertical and account strategies, prioritize high-impact opportunities, and move effectively between planning and hands-on execution

  • Strong commercial judgment with experience structuring and negotiating complex, high-value agreements

  • Analytical and financially minded, with the ability to use data and market intelligence to make decisions, forecast accurately, and improve performance

  • Clear and credible communicator who can influence executives, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority

  • Sound judgment in regulated environments, with the ability to balance growth, risk, compliance, and customer experience

  • Ownership mindset with a track record of improving workflows, developing repeatable practices, and navigating ambiguity

Nice to Have

  • Experience in medical, med spa or aesthetics, veterinary, fertility, ophthalmology, wellness, or other elective healthcare verticals

  • Experience in financial services, fintech, consumer lending, patient financing, point-of-sale financing, or embedded finance

  • Established relationships with national medical groups, management services organizations, healthcare platforms, buying groups, or relevant industry associations

  • Experience launching integrated, multi-location, or technology-enabled partnerships

Work Location

Remote role in the United States with regular national travel

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. Happen Bank offers relocation, based on actual job level.

Time Zone Requirements
Local hours (PT, MT, CT, ET)

While the position will primarily work local hours, Happen Bank is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements

30–40% national travel, including overnight travel and occasional weekends

  • Travel to support team development and partner growth

  • Quarterly travel to San Francisco or Lehi, UT office locations

  • Travel to national accounts, conferences

  • Happen Bank will cover travel-related expenses


Compensation
The target base salary range for this position is 117,000-137,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of Happen Bank's Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
