Sr. Medical Assistant - Cypress, TX

Location: Cypress, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Department: Neurology

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Sr. Medical Assistant to support a leading healthcare organization in Cypress, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a certified Medical Assistant with strong clinical and administrative skills who is comfortable working in a fast-paced Neurology practice and providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and prepare them for provider visits and examinations.

     

  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs.

     

  • Manage provider inboxes and voicemails, ensuring messages are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner.

     

  • Assist with prior authorizations and related documentation.

     

  • Scan, organize, and maintain medical records and documentation, including materials related to EMGs.

     

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR).

     

  • Assist providers and clinical staff with daily patient care and office workflow.

     

  • Support coordination of patient care and follow-up as directed by providers.

     

  • Maintain organized examination rooms and ensure necessary supplies are available.

     

  • Provide professional and compassionate service to patients throughout their visit.

     

  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and members of the healthcare team.

     

  • Follow facility policies, procedures, patient safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.

     

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

     

  • Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.

     

  • Previous experience in Neurology preferred.

     

  • Experience with EMGs or related neurology procedures preferred.

     

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.

     

  • American Heart Association (AHA) certification required.

     

  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

     

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

     

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Neurology environment.

     

  • Professional, dependable, and patient-focused.

     

  • Must successfully complete required drug and nicotine screening.

     

  • This is a non-smoking facility.
