Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and development activities for complex pneumatic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems within a medical equipment environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design and development of complex pneumatic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
- Create and develop 3D models and detailed designs using SolidWorks/MCAD.
- Apply DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and cost-effective manufacturing principles.
- Develop prototypes using internal manufacturing teams and external suppliers.
- Prepare and review product specifications, engineering reports, drawings, and design documentation.
- Perform design verification, testing, and analysis to ensure environmental, safety, regulatory, and performance requirements are met.
- Conduct thermal, structural, vibration, and statistical analysis as required.
- Support products manufactured through injection molding, extrusion, casting, sheet metal, stamping, additive manufacturing, and machining.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Lead small-to-medium engineering projects and support project execution.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 2 3 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, or product development.
- Strong experience with SolidWorks and 3D CAD.
- Strong mechanical and mechanism design, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with GD&T, ANSI/ISO dimensioning, measurement, and testing equipment.
- Experience with electronic document control in medical device or medical equipment environments.
- Knowledge of FDA, IEC, and UL standards applicable to medical electronic equipment.
- Experience using pressure/flow equipment, environmental chambers, data recorders, DVMs, oscilloscopes, and related test equipment.
- Familiarity with machine-shop equipment such as drill presses, lathes, milling machines, brakes, and shears.
- Strong communication, project coordination, leadership, and mentoring skills.
