    Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

    Qorvo is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Defense & Aerospace SSPA product development team in the Newbury Park, California office.

    Typical duties include (but not limited to):

    • Lead the mechanical design and development of ruggedized high-power RF amplifiers, subsystems, and chassis/LRUs for aerospace and defense applications.
    • Execute product development plans to achieve technical, schedule, and cost objectives across new product development, product enhancements and sustaining engineering initiatives.
    • Develop and implement thermal management solutions for forced-air and liquid-cooled electronic systems.
    • Perform thermal, shock, and vibration analyses of circuit board assemblies, electronics chassis, and structural components using ANSYS and Flotherm.
    • Create and maintain engineering drawings, product documentation, bills of materials (BOMs) and conduct GD&T-based tolerance analyses.
    • Lead and participate in peer, internal, and customer design reviews throughout the product development lifecycle.
    • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to designers and technicians as required.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a mechanical design engineer of electronics subsystems, chassis/LRUs, circuit card assemblies, coax cabling, waveguides and discrete wiring harnesses.
    • Mechanical design of electronics for aerospace and defense customers.
    • Must be comfortable working as part of a cross functional engineering team with open interchange of ideas.
    • Proven ability to work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned technical, schedule and cost goals.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Mechanical design of uW and mmW RF electronics for aerospace and defense/EW.
    • Experience with FEA thermal and structural modeling and analysis.
    • Proficient using Solidworks, Ansys and Flotherm.
    • Familiar with military and aerospace environmental requirements (extreme temperatures, altitude, vibration, shock, salt fog, etc.).
