Summary -We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership within our MEP Engineering team. This role is responsible for leading the design, coordination, and execution of complex mechanical systems for large-scale commercial, healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, federal, institutional, and educational facilities. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing projects from concept through construction, serving as the Engineer of Record when applicable, mentoring engineering staff, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients. This is not a product design role.

What I'm Looking For:


  • Lead the mechanical engineering design for complex HVAC and building systems projects from conceptual design through construction and project closeout
  • Serve as the primary technical resource and client contact throughout all phases of project delivery
  • Oversee HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, energy modeling coordination, psychrometric analysis, and mechanical system design
  • Review and approve engineering calculations, construction documents, specifications, and technical reports
  • Provide technical leadership, QA/QC oversight, and mentorship to engineers and designers
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve complex design challenges
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables across multiple concurrent projects
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and perform construction administration and field observations
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development
  • Drive engineering best practices, technical standards, and continuous process improvements within the organization


What's Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10-15+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience within the AEC industry
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Extensive experience designing HVAC systems for commercial, healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, federal, higher education, or other complex facilities
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC design, psychrometrics, energy codes, mechanical codes, and building systems integration
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring engineering staff
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage large, technically complex projects from pursuit through construction
  • Excellent communication, client relationship, leadership, and project management skills
  • LEED Accredited Professional or experience with sustainable building design is a plus
