    Description

Interested in shaping how customers discover and engage with Whole Foods Market? We are looking for a customer-obsessed, strategic, and analytical Senior Marketing Manager to join the Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) Outbound & Onsite Marketing team.

This marketing leader will serve as the functional lead for Organic Search, WFM.com Onsite, Google Listings, and Venues & Amenities, setting strategy and priorities across key Whole Foods Market customer experiences. The role will help customers discover our offerings through organic and AI-powered search, engage with relevant content on WFM.com, and find accurate store information across our site and third-party platforms.

The Senior Marketing Manager will directly own the long-term Organic Search strategy, including technical search engine optimization (SEO), content, structured data, AI search readiness, experimentation, and measurement. Across WFM.com Onsite, Google Listings, and Venues & Amenities, this leader will provide functional direction, establish priorities and success measures, and resolve complex cross-functional, technical, and vendor dependencies.

This role requires strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will identify growth opportunities, develop channel strategies and roadmaps, and guide initiatives from concept through testing and scaled execution. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Paid Media, Creative, Merchandising, and Program Marketing to influence roadmaps, secure prioritization, and make trade-offs across customer experience, business impact, technical feasibility, and resources.

The right person will bring analytical judgment, operational excellence, program management skills, and the ability to influence without direct authority. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, translating technical and performance insights into clear business recommendations, and building scalable mechanisms for reporting, prioritization, and governance. Experience with SEO, digital customer experiences, and evolving AI-powered discovery will help you succeed in this role.

Our team is collaborative, goal-oriented, and focused on delivering results while building for the future. We seek an individual who can set a clear direction, lead through others, and adapt as customer behavior, technology, and business needs evolve.

This role is office-based in either Seattle, WA, or Austin, TX.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own the long-term Organic Search strategy for Whole Foods Market, prioritizing technical SEO, content, structured data, and AI search readiness to improve discoverability and customer acquisition.
    • Set strategy, priorities, and success measures across WFM.com Onsite, Google Listings, and Venues & Amenities, providing functional direction and resolving dependencies across workstreams.
    • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, search behavior, competitive experiences, and emerging trends to identify growth opportunities and improve the customer experience.
    • Establish measurement frameworks to evaluate traffic, engagement, conversion, and business impact. Own Weekly Business Review (WBR) and Monthly Business Review (MBR) reporting and monthly leadership updates, translating findings into recommended actions, experiments, and investment decisions.
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Paid Media, Creative, Merchandising, Program Marketing, and external vendors to influence roadmaps, secure prioritization, and deliver initiatives from concept through scaled execution.
    • Build scalable mechanisms for roadmap intake, prioritization, and governance; identify gaps in tools and processes and partner with technical teams to improve efficiency and functionality.

    About the team

We are an entrepreneurial, customer-obsessed and motivated team, working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly collaborative environment. Our business is more startup than big company, with a high pace and degree of ambiguity. You should be comfortable with change, embrace the opportunity to wear many hats, and relish the chance to solve hard problems in short order.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
