The Sr. Manager, Operations is a key leader within the Solar Manufacturing organization and will be responsible for leading production, engineering, and maintenance. They will be responsible for meeting production forecasts, budgets, and driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process environment. They will role model leadership for their operations teams, develop their people, and provide direction and hands-on support as necessary. This role will ensure quality and safety of the operation while driving continuous improvement and excellence. Build a mission critical manufacturing team, start-up, ramp, and optimize production
Responsible for manufacturing operations including production, engineering, and maintenance, daily production planning, delivery to plan, production cost, (FTT) first time yield, uptime, safety, quality targets, production staffing, etc.
Maintain high product quality, safety and yield while ensuring optimal cost, use of resources and adherence to best safety practices
Maintain the facility and equipment in optimal operating conditions through implementation of a preventative maintenance system and taking appropriate corrective actions where needed
Hire, coach, lead and develop large scale teams made up of salaried and hourly team members
Support upgrades, new product and material introductions by supporting design teams, creating process plans, tracking budget costs and project schedules and developing countermeasures for timely completion of project goals
Drive high quality standards in everything we do such as process control systems, monitoring and managing key product metrics, consistency in documentation, and 5S initiatives
Develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives. Provide feedback to management on issues; benchmark other organizations for best practices
Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
12+ years' experience in high-volume, high-speed manufacturing (solar, semi-conductor preferred); 9+ years' leadership or equivalent
Proven track record building and leading large, top performing teams, driving continuous improvement, and delivering world-class manufacturing results
Experience hiring and building out top-performing teams
Experience with introduction of new products and materials
New process and equipment start-up and production ramp up experience desired
Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow through
