Operational Oversight Manage daily operations of the loan administration, including loan documentation & closing and post-closing quality assurance, direct interface with credit, closing, finance, servicing, and quality assurance. Inter-departmental Collaboration Work closely with across departments such as sales, credit, accounting, servicing, quality assurance and risk management to ensure seamless integration of loan operations.

Our client, a financial services company, is seeking a Sr. Manager of Closing to join their team in Tustin, CA or DTLA!
Responsibilties:
Operational Oversight

• Manage daily operations of the loan administration, including loan documentation & closing and post-closing quality assurance, direct interface with credit, closing, finance, servicing, and quality assurance.
• New Loans and modifications are documented and closed accurately.  Provides Quality Control and Assurance of all loans.
• Ensure collateral is perfected in accordance with the loan approval prior to funding of loans. Loans are disbursed appropriately and correct funding source is utilized.
• Loan documentation matches approved credit memos, including any modifications to the memo.
• Ensure that loan closing processes are streamlined and efficient, identifying areas of improvement and implementing best practices.
• Processes are well documented.
• Maintain and update loan processing systems and databases to ensure accurate record keeping.
• Work with Legal or outside counsel for loan specific loan documentation language.
• Monitor lending pipeline to ensure timely and accurate closings in a fast-paced environment. 

Team Management

• Lead, train, and mentor staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Coordinate staffing needs, handle hiring, training, and staff development.

Customer Service

• Oversee customer service interactions, ensuring that customers' questions and concerns regarding loans are addressed promptly and accurately.
• Mediate and resolve any escalated customer complaints or issues related to loan administration.
• As required by the loan, clearly communicate, and work closely with third party vendors such as insurance agents, contractors, escrow and title agents or other loan vendors.  

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure that all loan processes comply with funder requirements, guaranty requirements and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Regularly review policies and procedures to ensure they are in line with regulatory changes.
• Oversee internal audits of the loan administration department, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Reporting & Analysis

• Generate regular reports on loan activity, team performance, and other relevant metrics.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure departmental success and areas of improvement.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.

Inter-departmental Collaboration

• Work closely with across departments such as sales, credit, accounting, servicing, quality assurance and risk management to ensure seamless integration of loan operations.
• Coordinate with IT to facilitate system updates, integrations, or any technological requirements related to loan administration.

Training & Development

• Stay updated with commercial loan program requirements and loan administration to incorporate prudent industry best practices.
• Organize regular training sessions for the team on new regulations, technologies, or process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient and effective operation of the department and that help to make the firm the best place to work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 years’ experience as a Loan Administration Manager or similar role.
• Financial services work experience of more than 10 years.
• Managerial experience of a Loan Administrator, Documentation, Closing or Servicing department required. 
• LaserPro Loan Documentation experience required. 
• Salesforce, Loan Origination System, Docusign, electronic document filing systems, a plus proficiency with loan management software
• Strong understanding of commercial loan processing procedures and regulations.
• Excellent leadership and organizational abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Detailed oriented and strong organization skills.
• Must work effectively with other staff members and work well in a busy environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Documentation requirements for C&I and Commercial Real Estate loan transactions, loan participation documents and specialized loan products.
• Sophisticated word processing and computer database skills, especially in Microsoft Office applications.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, operations and regulations.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organizational levels, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical ability with active listening skills.
• Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines, including extended work hours.
• Exhibit a professional, business-like appearance and demeanor.

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000
