POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager of Customer & Inventory Placement owns the analytical intelligence that determines where inventory is positioned across O&M's ~50-node distribution network and supports the expansion of the distribution network's physical footprint. This role is the cross between supply chain expert and intelligence layer feeding external tech's Positioning module - defining the demand-weighted cohort logic and and DC-level placement policy that the platform acts on. The role requires financial modeling rigor, supply chain analytical depth, and the ability to translate operational data into network decisions that reduce transfer costs and service failures across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Exclude if less than 15%)

  • Own the customer and inventory placement analytical function: demand-by-DC modeling, days-of-cover disparity analysis, and the T2/T3 (head/body/tail) cohort framework that identifies stranded and overstock inventory across the network
  • Produce placement KPIs for WBR and MBR reporting: days-of-cover disparity index, IBT avoidability rate, stranded inventory value, and receipt-to-demand alignment score
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Planning, Operations, and IT to align inbound receipt plans with demand signals before inventory arrives at the DC
  • Facilitate the acquisition / moving of customers to and from new / closing DCs from the Capacity side
  • Support the Sr. Manager / Director in developing team analytical standards, methodology documentation, and data pipeline requirements for the Inbound Placement function
  • Support lease renewal workstreams across medical distribution and global products businesses
  • Identify strategic opportunities to reduced fixed cost spend in warehouse footprint across the supply chain, working cross-functionally with operations to reduce barriers and drive impact
  • Provide consultation on network flows and supply chain design to Senior Leadership, including but not limited to NPV impact and PowerPoint presentations highlighting impact
  • Provide mentorship to Analysts and Senior Analysts regarding project plans, standardization of work / reporting, and executive communication

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI (or equivalent); ability to build and validate quantitative analytical frameworks from source data
  • Ability to synthesize large complex datasets into clear operational recommendations for cross-functional and VP-level audiences
  • Process improvement orientation - track record of identifying operational inefficiencies and redesigning workflows systematically
  • Collaborative and cross-functional; comfortable working across Procurement, Planning, IT, and Operations without direct authority
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to present KPI findings and placement recommendations to senior leadership

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Inside working conditions.
  • Ability to travel ~25% to Distribution Centers and Plants.
  • No environmental hazards indicated for this classification.
  • Open to a hybrid remote working environment.
