Sr. Manager, Learning Experience Design

About the role
The Senior Manager, Learning Experience Design is responsible for leading the instructional design function, learning technology operations, and learning experience standards across the organization. This role ensures enterprise learning solutions are designed, developed, and delivered with consistency, quality, and scalability to drive associate performance and business results.

Working closely with the Senior Director, Learning & Development, business leaders, and Learning Solutions Architects, the Senior Manager translates enterprise learning strategy into high-impact learning experiences while overseeing instructional design, Learning Management System governance, design standards, and team performance. Success in this role means delivering innovative, learner-centered solutions that improve capability, strengthen business performance, and create a consistent learning experience across the organization. This role will report to the Sr. Director, Learning Experience Design.

This is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of Raleigh, NC,with an in-office requirement of two days per week.

You Will

• Lead, coach, and develop the Learning Experience Design team, fostering technical expertise, performance, and professional growth across instructional design, learning technology, and learning operations.
• Establish and maintain enterprise instructional design standards, methodologies, governance, and best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and consistent learning experiences.
• Partner with Learning Solutions Architects, business leaders, and subject matter experts to translate business priorities into impactful learning solutions that drive measurable performance outcomes.
• Oversee the design, development, implementation, and quality of enterprise learning solutions across instructor-led, virtual, digital, blended, and self-paced learning environments.
• Own Learning Management System governance, learning technologies, and operational processes, ensuring effective content management, reporting, learner support, and continuous platform optimization.
• Establish governance for learning content, publishing standards, deployment processes, and design quality to ensure learning solutions are implemented consistently and as intended.
• Measure learning effectiveness through learner, operational, and business performance data, driving continuous improvement and enhancing learner experiences across enterprise programs.
• Manage vendor relationships and identify opportunities to improve learning processes, technologies, and scalability while supporting evolving business needs.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, talent development, or enterprise learning.
• 5+ years of experience leading instructional design, learning technology, or learning operations teams.
• Experience leading enterprise learning programs from strategy through implementation.
• Strong expertise in instructional design, adult learning, performance consulting, and learning experience design.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems, learning technologies, and authoring tools.
• Experience establishing learning standards, governance, and quality assurance processes.
• Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing vendors and cross-functional partnerships.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
