Sr Manager, Development

Veradigm eChartCourier (eCC) is an automated medical chart retrieval solution used by healthcare providers across the United States. An EHR-agnostic clinical data exchange platform, eCC enables healthcare providers to securely share medical records with health plans and other requestors in a HIPAA-compliant process, eliminating manual chart chasing and improving operational efficiency.

This Sr Manager Development position is responsible for managing the eCC Engineering team resources across Software Development, QA/Testing, DevOps/Platform, Architecture, and Support Engineering to ensure that the chase request platform is adequately staffed and that targets for the development, maintenance, and support of the product are achieved.

This will be a hands on technical leader, focused on delivering a high-quality, scalable eChartCourier solution by leading cross-functional engineering teams through the full software development lifecycle. Responsible for driving execution of product roadmap initiatives, ensuring platform reliability, and maintaining engineering standards across the eCC product line. Budgetary responsibilities for headcount, cost control, capital, and expenses may also exist and vary based on department and organizational requirements.

• Resource forecasting and allocation of software engineers, quality engineers, and/or technical authors across several development Programs for new product development.
• Defining, leading, and auditing progress with development process and quality initiatives, as appropriate to project and product need.
• Ownership of standards-based compliance or process improvement efforts, as required by Programs and as appropriate to project and product need.
• Participation-in and well-planned implementation-of established global software quality improvement initiatives and processes, leveraging ROI, adherence to standards, and timely, measurable results,
• Establishing and cultivating collaborative, effective relationships with global counterparts to ensure adequate resource allocation to projects and maximum efficiency.
• Regular use/reporting of metrics for resource allocation, software defects, productivity, and efficiency.
• Establishment of performance goals for all team members.
• Leveraging effective, clear, timely communication via all available written and verbal forms and in a global context as appropriate for the initiatives and locations involved.
• Ensuring commitments and progress to schedules remain clear, reasonable, and proactively monitored.
• Ensuring communication and status forums/formats make optimal use of time and effect, draw attention to important matters, and are effective mediums for managing initiatives and teams.
• Set and communicate team/individual objectives and KPI to inspire individuals to achieve high performance.
• Implement development plans and coach for individuals to reach their maximum talent.
• Provide regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical / business experience, required

Experience

• 10+ years full stack development experience
• 4 -7 years of relevant leadership experience including directing the work of others, preferred
• Bonus: experience with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR, CCDA) or regulated/HIPAA environments  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• It is essential that a person at this level proactively maintain awareness of management strategies, development methodology and standards for team operations, and improve project, product or process
• Hands-on AWS experience (compute, containers, databases, IAM)
• Practical experience integrating AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) into a team's workflow — and knowing how to review that code responsibly  
• Strong full-stack technical background; you should be able to get into the code, not just manage the roadmap  
• Comfort owning CI/CD, uptime, and incident response for a production system at scale 

Working Arrangements

• Standard work week or as defined by assignment requirements
• Travel to Raleigh office expected 1-2 times a month
