    Job Description:

    DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Senior Manager, Finance Master Data Governance & Data Quality located in Raynham, MA, West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Raritan, NJ, United States.

    Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes, and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

    The Senior Manager will lead the governance, management, stewardship, and quality of Finance Master Data within the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem supporting DePuy Synthes’ financial operations. This position is responsible for ensuring critical finance master data is accurate, complete, consistent, compliant with enterprise standards, and fit for financial transactions, reporting, and operational processes. The role will partner closely with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to strengthen master data governance practices, monitor data quality, remediate issues, and drive continuous improvement across finance data domains. This is a high-impact role that helps ensure Finance Master Data is trusted, well-controlled, and effectively managed to support operational discipline, transparency, and business performance.

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Lead the governance, management, stewardship, and ongoing operations of finance master data processes and platforms, ensuring alignment with business priorities and enterprise standards.
    • Establish and maintain finance master data governance policies, standards, controls, ownership models, stewardship roles, approval workflows, and governance forums.
    • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of finance master data, including creation, change, retirement, archival, technology-enabled workflows, validations, and governance controls.
    • Drive standardization, harmonization, and proper integration of finance master data across global business units, SAP and non-SAP applications, systems, and business processes.
    • Define and monitor finance data quality rules, scorecards, dashboards, and KPIs; lead profiling, root cause analysis, remediation, and preventive control efforts to reduce defects and manual corrections.
    • Ensure finance master data controls are embedded into business processes and aligned with audit, SOX, regulatory, and enterprise compliance requirements.
    • Partner with Finance, IT, Shared Services, ERP, EPM, reporting, and business stakeholders to support SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, new business integrations, and scalable master data solutions.
    • Drive continuous improvement through process simplification, standardization, automation, and strengthened data quality controls. 

     Qualifications 

    Education 

    • Required: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field 
    • Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline 

    Experience and Skills 

    Required: 

    • 8–10 years of experience leading finance master data, data governance, data management, or enterprise finance data functions in a complex organization
    • Strong hands-on experience with, and understanding of, SAP S/4HANA Finance, including finance master data structures, financial postings, reporting dependencies, and related business process impacts
    • Experience establishing and operationalizing finance master data governance, stewardship, data quality, controls, compliance, and data management practices
    • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing managers, contractors, and/or senior individual contributors
    • Strong communication, change leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior Finance, IT, shared services and business stakeholders

    Preferred: 

    • ERP and finance master data platform knowledge, including implementation, enhancement, or operational support
    • Familiarity with master data governance technologies, such as SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), Informatica, Collibra, or Alation, and their role in managing and governing finance master data
    • Knowledge of data quality practices, including profiling, rule definition, monitoring, remediation, scorecards, and continuous improvement
    • Background in MedTech, healthcare, or other regulated industries
    • Track record of leading large-scale transformation or modernization initiatives 

    Other: 

    • Travel: Up to 10–20%, primarily domestic 
    • Certifications: SAP, PMP, Agile, data or cloud certifications preferred but not required

    $122,000.00 - $212,750.00
