    Description

    The Senior Manager of Category Sales Enablement translates category strategies into effective execution through retail sales teams. The Sr. Manager is responsible for co-development of business strategies with direct accountability to deliver an end-to-end sales operations plan. This individual will provide sales leadership, expertise, and input on business decisions. The Sr. Manager will build and own merchant relationships and vendor partnerships, as well as interact with business team members at all levels including retail field, IT, Demand Planning, Marketing, Finance and respective business groups.

    This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Category Sales Strategy

    • Develop ongoing and end-to-end sales strategy to support business categories
    • Direct responsibility for category or initiative selling plan and process
    • Partner with business team, marketing, retail, IT, finance, demand planning, and other partners to ensure holistic end-to-end strategies are developed and executed
    • Engage with retail and corporate partners to ensure strategies and information are developed with a retail sales lens

    Business Category Management

    • Accountable for the effectiveness of day-to-day operational needs including training, communication, issue resolution, capacity management, SOP, measurement and business analysis
    • Provide business team with sales operations perspective, advice and limits regarding sales proficiency, retail capacity, training best practices, scorecards/measurements, recognition programs and retail communications
    • Accountable for ensuring infrastructure and tools are strategically designed to maximize business across the category
    • Work with field multi-unit leaders to help guide decisions, support local initiatives, and resolve issues around specific category responsibilities
    • Provide sales operations subject matter expertise throughout the category and broader operational organization

    Decision Support

    • Accountable for merchant relationships, vendor partnerships, key business category needs and operational category decisions
    • Act as operational SME and represent retail through feedback throughout decision making process

    Team Leadership

    • Directly responsible for daily direction and management of a team of individuals
    • Effectively motivating and developing team members to gain additional skills and experiences
    • Creating and delivering team vision and goals
    • Performance and talent management

    Basic Qualifications

    • 5 or more years of direct people management experience
    • 5 or more years of retail, services or equivalent experience
    • 4 or more years of experience building cross-functional partnerships
    • 4 or more years of business operations and support experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 4 or more years of vendor partnership experience
    • 4 or more years of project management experience
