The Sr. Manager, Accounting Operations will lead critical accounting functions in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment and help advance the organization’s billing, accounts payable, reporting, and process capabilities.Position OverviewFusion HCR is seeking a Sr. Manager, Accounting Operations to lead the Billing and Accounts Payable functions. This individual will oversee managers and team members while driving accuracy, accountability, compliance, and operational excellence across day-to-day accounting operations. The role will build and develop high-performing teams, strengthen processes and controls, and improve visibility into billing, payables, cash flow, and team performance. The Sr. Manager will partner with leaders across the organization to resolve complex issues, identify automation opportunities, optimize accounting systems, and support scalable workflows. Success in this position requires a hands-on, solutions-oriented leader who can balance strategic improvement initiatives with reliable execution in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounts Payable and Billing functions, including managers and team members across both departments.
• Coach, develop, and provide performance leadership to build engaged, accountable, high-performing teams.
• Oversee invoicing, reconciliations, vendor payments, adjustments, vendor administration, and related controls.
• Partner with internal teams and customers to resolve complex billing and payment issues.
• Monitor operational performance through key metrics, reporting, and process reviews.
• Identify automation opportunities and streamline workflows to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
• Lead process improvement initiatives across Billing and Accounts Payable.
• Partner on accounting system implementations, upgrades, and optimization efforts.
• Develop scalable processes, controls, and workflows that support organizational growth.
• Support audits and internal control initiatives.
• Provide operational insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Seven to ten years of progressive accounting or operational finance experience.
• Experience leading Billing, Accounts Payable, or related accounting operations teams.
• Demonstrated success leading managers and developing high-performing teams across multiple functions.
• Experience driving process improvements and system implementations in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and people-development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and control.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate operational data into actionable reporting.
• Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with reporting, analytics, automation, or AI-enabled tools.
• Effective cross-functional collaboration skills and sound business judgment.
• Fuel, energy, or logistics industry experience is a plus.
• CPA certification or an advanced degree is preferred.
