The Office of Human Resources at the University of Minnesota is seeking a Senior Labor Relations Consultant to join our Employee and Labor Relations Center of Expertise. In this hybrid role based on the Twin Cities campus, you will serve as a lead or second-chair negotiator in labor contract negotiations and partner with senior leadership to design and execute proactive labor relations strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop bargaining strategies, draft proposals, and negotiate labor contracts.

Facilitate labor-management committees and consult on contract interpretation and legal compliance.

Oversee the grievance process, write decisions, and prepare for arbitrations.

Qualifications:

Candidates should hold a BA/BS degree in HR or a related field (Master's or JD preferred) with at least 8 years of labor relations experience, including contract negotiation and grievance handling. Strong knowledge of labor law, excellent communication skills, and collaborative leadership are essential.

We offer a salary range of $120,000-$140,000 alongside competitive health, retirement, and tuition benefits.
