Your Role
Akkodis is seeking an Sr Java Kafka Engineer for a Contract with a client in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate with experience designing, developing, and delivering scalable event-driven applications, real-time data processing platforms, and cloud-native solutions to support enterprise business needs.
Rate Range: $68/hour to $71/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Sr Java Kafka Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications, microservices, and event-driven systems using Java, Spring Boot, Confluent Kafka, and Apache Flink.
Build and optimize real-time data streaming solutions, including Kafka topics, consumer groups, schema management, stream processing, and event-driven architectures.
Develop and deploy cloud-native applications and services on AWS using Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and related technologies.
Create automation utilities, data processing workflows, and operational tools using Python to improve efficiency and platform reliability.
Implement CI/CD pipelines, performance testing, and monitoring solutions while ensuring scalability, availability, and application performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform code reviews, optimize Kafka/Flink environments, and deliver high-quality enterprise solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on experience with Java, Kafka, Apache Flink, AWS, and real-time data processing platforms.
Strong expertise in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, Confluent Kafka, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Apache Flink, and event-driven application development.
Proven experience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS, developing Python-based automation tools, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and optimizing high-volume streaming and real-time analytics systems.

Pay Details: $68.00 to $71.00 per hour
