Role Overview
Turnbridge is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and scale high-performance applications in a cloud-first environment. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Java and microservices architecture, along with experience in Microsoft Azure. Youll also play a key role in guiding a small team while contributing to modern, AI-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java-based applications
- Build and evolve microservices architectures using Spring Boot and related frameworks
- Integrate AI/ML and Generative AI capabilities (e.g., Azure AI services, LLM APIs) into applications
- Develop intelligent features such as chatbots, recommendation engines, and workflow automation
- Deploy and manage applications within Azure cloud environments
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to junior developers or small teams
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in coding, security, and performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and AI integrations
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
- Stay current with emerging trends in AI, cloud, and backend engineering
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure DevOps)
- Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML solutions (REST APIs, LLMs, Azure AI services)
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Proven ability to mentor developers or lead modules/projects
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native design
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Git and modern version control practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Generative AI use cases in production environments
- Azure certifications or other relevant cloud certifications
- Exposure to DevOps tooling and infrastructure-as-code practices
