Description and Requirements

The Senior GPU Architect will serve as the organization''s technical leader for GPU architecture, strategy, and platform integration, helping define the direction of next-generation server products. This role is responsible for evaluating and guiding GPU implementation across the server portfolio, including electrical, thermal, and mechanical design considerations, while reviewing schematics and PCB layouts to ensure platform readiness for emerging GPU technologies. The engineer will work closely with system architects and cross-functional development teams to define product concepts, influence design decisions, and ensure optimal GPU integration into future server platforms.

In addition, the Senior GPU Architect will lead a team of GPU engineers responsible for product qualification, certification, troubleshooting, and release support activities. The position acts as the groups center of competence on GPU technologies, providing deep expertise on GPU features, performance, industry trends, and best practices. The engineer will develop and document design guidelines that enable hardware and firmware teams to effectively implement new GPU capabilities while maintaining alignment with product requirements and industry standards.

Throughout the product lifecycle, the Senior GPU Architect will investigate and resolve complex GPU-related issues, drive root-cause analysis, and collaborate with development, validation, manufacturing, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The role also supports product introduction, qualification testing, field sustainment, and ongoing customer-facing issue resolution, ensuring that products meet regulatory requirements, quality objectives, and long-term reliability expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in EE, CE, CS, or related field.
  • 10+ years in server/platform architecture development.
  • 5+ years of data center GPU architecture or accelerator integration experience.
  • Expertise in GPU-enabled server design, PCIe/CXL, power, thermal, and mechanical integration.
  • Experience leading architecture reviews, qualification, validation, and issue resolution.
  • Proven technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS/PhD in EE, CE, CS, or related field.
  • 15+ years of server architecture experience.
  • AI/HPC infrastructure and GPU roadmap planning expertise.
  • Experience with NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel accelerator ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with CUDA, ROCm, Redfish/IPMI, and server management architectures.
  • Experience leading global engineering organizations and defining architecture standards.
