Position Summary:
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) role is a post-sale delivery role and will be a transition point for the Sales Engineer. This role plays a critical role in supporting and enabling technology with large national and regional convenience-retail customers by serving as the Level 3 technical support resource during and after the implementation phase. This role is the transition point once a customer has decided to buy products and progress with UAT. The Field Service Engineer will manage staging of the customer lab environment, support the implementation of DFS products, provide field support for the first installation(s), and manage sustaining issues that arise during and after the implementation phase.
The Field Service Engineer is also a technical escalation point of contact for the L1 and L2 Customer Support team. As escalations arise, the Field Service Engineer is expected to provide technical ability and guidance to the support team.
This is a post-sale delivery role. The Sales Engineer owns technical discovery, solution scoping, and pre-contract alignment, then hands off to Implementation and Project teams once the sale is complete. Success is measured by trust built, deals enabled, and the quality of solutions sold-not by post-installation execution.
