This confidential opportunity is ideal for an accomplished compensation consultant who can help organizations design competitive and effective executive and broad-based rewards programs.
You will lead complex client engagements involving compensation strategy, pay benchmarking, incentive plan design, and pay-structure modernization. You will also build client relationships, support business development, guide project teams, and advise senior HR and business leaders.
What You'll Do
- Lead executive and broad-based compensation consulting engagements from strategy through implementation.
- Design short- and long-term incentive plans, pay structures, compensation frameworks, and total rewards strategies.
- Conduct market benchmarking and advise clients on competitive pay practices.
- Help organizations align compensation programs with business objectives, talent priorities, and market conditions.
- Advise clients across various industries and ownership structures on executive pay and governance considerations.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with HR executives, business leaders, and other client stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand relationships with existing clients.
- Develop proposals, define project scope, support pricing, negotiate terms, and present recommendations.
- Manage project teams, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and overall engagement quality.
- Collaborate with specialists across compensation, talent, workforce strategy, and HR transformation.
- Monitor regulatory developments, governance requirements, and emerging compensation trends.
- Use AI and technology-enabled tools to improve research, analysis, insights, and client delivery.
- Mentor and develop consulting professionals at multiple levels.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, finance, economics, organizational psychology, or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of experience delivering executive compensation, broad-based compensation, or total rewards solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in compensation strategy, benchmarking, incentive design, and pay-structure development.
- Experience leading sales efforts, managing consulting engagements, and developing client relationships.
- Proven ability to oversee complex, multi-phase projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of compensation governance, regulatory considerations, and market practices.
- Excellent executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to translate complex compensation analyses into clear and practical recommendations.
- Willingness to travel within the United States to support client engagements.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Compensation
The anticipated annual compensation range for this position is $120,000–$180,000.

Additional Information
This is a hybrid position requiring at least three days per week in either the Chicago office. Clients may be located throughout the United States, and some travel is expected to support client engagements and relationship development.
