Our client is a leading South Florida General Contractor with a strong track record in Government and Multifamily Construction projects.

Job Description

Conduct comprehensive cost estimations for construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

Evaluate project plans, specifications, and related documents to identify potential risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for value engineering.

Collaborate with project managers and clients to develop accurate and detailed budgets for proposed construction projects.

Experience with conceptual estimates.

Prepare and submit well-organized and competitive bids in response to project invitations, ensuring compliance with all requirements.

Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality workmanship.

Collaborate with design teams and subcontractors to identify cost-saving alternatives without compromising project quality and functionality.

Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide cost-related insights and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bid documents, and other project-related information. Prepare reports and presentations as needed.

Stay updated on industry trends, construction material costs, labor rates, and market conditions to support accurate estimating and cost forecasting.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Preconstruction Estimator or similar role in South Florida (REQUIRED)

10+ years of estimating experience on large ground up and renovation projects ($25M+)

Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.

Several years of experience with conceptual estimating (REQUIRED)

Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Familiarity with construction contracts, bid processes, and legal requirements.

A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
