    Senior Estimator

    Commercial Construction | Edmonton, Alberta

    Our client, a well-established commercial construction firm, is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their Edmonton team. This role is central to winning work and setting projects up for success, and calls for a professional with deep commercial estimating experience who can hit the ground running.

    The Role

     

    As Senior Estimator, you will lead the preparation of accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects. You will manage the estimating process from takeoff through bid submission, working closely with project teams to ensure a smooth handoff into delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
    • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop competitive, well-structured bids.
    • Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
    • Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities.
    • Collaborate with project management to ensure a seamless estimate-to-delivery handoff.
    • Maintain and refine cost databases, unit pricing, and historical benchmarks.
    • Support bid strategy and contribute to business development efforts.

      What You Bring

    • Extensive commercial construction estimating experience is required.
    • Strong ability to produce accurate, competitive estimates independently.
    • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing.
    • Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools.
    • Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or a related field is an asset.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
