    Description

    We are building Terafab, a vertically integrated semiconductor factory at an unprecedented scale. The facility houses logic, memory, packaging, test, and lithography mask production under one roof, optimized for rapid iteration and maximum compute density per square foot.

    The Terafab team is seeking a Lead Environmental Engineer to build, implement, and sustain multi-media environmental compliance and risk management programs through construction, commissioning, and manufacturing. You will work cross-functionally with design, engineering, infrastructure, facilities, and production to ensure compliance and control environmental risks.

    • Build, implement, and sustain multi-media environmental compliance programs spanning air emissions, industrial wastewater, stormwater (SWPPP), Spill Prevention, Controls, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan, hazardous waste, and hazardous materials management
    • Lead environmental registrations and permitting from strategy through agency submittal, negotiation, and ongoing permit compliance
    • Prepare and submit required environmental reports, including Tier II, TRI, DMRs, biennial hazardous waste reports, and air permit reports
    • Track and interpret new and proposed environmental laws and regulations; translate requirements into clear guidance for leadership and operations
    • Own environmental inspections, action tracking, and corrective actions with accountable stakeholders
    • Support environmental training, internal audits, sustainability reporting, and continuous improvement of environmental management systems
    • Oversee agency inspections and maintain constructive working relationships with federal, state, and local regulators
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; PE or CHMM a plus, or equivalent experience
    • 7+ years managing multi-media environmental permitting and compliance programs in the semiconductor industry, chemical, or similarly complex manufacturing environments
    • Advanced knowledge of major environmental frameworks (CAA, CWA, RCRA, NEPA, TSCA) and their practical application to the semiconductor industry and R&D facilities
    • Proven ability to translate chemical and physical manufacturing process information into accurate registrations, permit applications, emissions/waste characterizations, and compliance reports
    • Experience prioritizing work and delivering multi-workstream projects on aggressive timelines in a fast-changing environment
    • Clear, concise communicator who can work effectively with design, construction, engineering, Legal, technical specialists, and leadership
    • Strong analytical judgment with practical problem-solving and decision-making skills
