JOB TITLE: Sr Engineering Technician
LOCATION:Torrance, CA
PAY RATE: $35-38/hour

• Job Type: Contract (6 months with potential for extension)

Summary: 

• Manages and operates the environmental testing lab with primary focus on the electrodynamic shaker system and integrated slip tables.

• Collaborates with engineering teams to set up, program, and execute complex structural, sinusoidal, random, and pyro-shock vibration tests on development and flight hardware.

• Applies technical expertise with high-force amplifiers, data acquisition systems, and mechanical fixturing.

• Performs testing and troubleshooting of vibration test setups and equipment.

• Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency and establish a standard production rate.

• May direct and lead the work of others in vibration testing activities.

• Plans and accomplishes goals using experience and judgment within the environmental testing lab.

• Performs a variety of complicated tasks with creativity and latitude.

• Operates and maintains electrodynamic shaker systems and integrated slip tables.

• Executes vibration tests on critical development and flight hardware.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• High school degree or equivalent.

• 4-6 years of experience in the field.

• Previous testing and troubleshooting experience preferred.

• Technical expertise with high-force amplifiers.

• Technical expertise with data acquisition systems.

• Technical expertise with mechanical fixturing.

• Ability to set up, program, and execute structural, sinusoidal, random, and pyro-shock vibration tests.

• Ability to operate electrodynamic shaker systems and integrated slip tables.

• Familiarity with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
