Summary:
Independently performs electrical and mechanical assembly of prototype systems and processes.
Configures laboratory test systems using CF, KF, NPT, and VCR fittings for vacuum and gas-handling setups.
Wires assemblies and creates test cables for laboratory and prototype systems.
Uses test equipment including multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, Lakeshores for temperature measurement, vacuum pumps, and vacuum gauges.
Troubleshoots problems and performs routine maintenance on equipment including compressors, scroll vacuum pumps, and turbomolecular vacuum pumps.
Works with chilled water systems and liquefied gas systems for laboratory operations.
Assists senior technicians, engineers, and scientists in the execution of project milestones and deliverables.
Assists in documentation of existing systems and processes.
Performs general lab maintenance and organization, engaging in 5S events.
Operates or troubleshoots cryogenic and electromagnetic equipment with a strong safety mindset.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Hands-on experience working with vacuum systems, particularly configuring laboratory test systems using CF, KF, NPT, and VCR fittings for vacuum and gas-handling setups.
Experience with wiring assemblies and creating test cables.
Experience with chilled water systems and liquefied gas systems.
Experience with multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, Lakeshores (temperature measurement), vacuum pumps, and vacuum gauges.
Experience troubleshooting problems and performing routine maintenance on equipment such as compressors, scroll vacuum pumps, and turbomolecular vacuum pumps.
Experience working in an R&D setting is preferred.
Experience writing and developing SOP documentation is preferred.
Experience with LabVIEW and Python is preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a team or project setting and work with minimal supervision.
