Daikin Applied is seeking a Sr. Engineering Operations Manager. The Sr. Engineering Operations Manager will provide leadership for the Compressor business unit by helping to set the direction for product and process improvements and by motivating their staff to accomplish project assignments. With general direction, you will develop staff to improve the organization's efficiency and capabilities and provide technical leadership for products and processes required to satisfy our internal and external customers by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Location: Staunton, VA – On-site  

Your Responsibilities:

• Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures. Set priorities and reconcile directions from competing interests.
• Resolve problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
• Analyze technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
• Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
• Forecast operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
• Advise management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
• Provide direction and examples for the interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities. Develop standards and guidelines.
• Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies that may improve operations, and develop recommendations accordingly.
• Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
• Routinely interact and communicate with organization leaders, clients, customers, officials, and others. Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials or other organizations and companies for purposes of discussion and negotiation on critical issues.

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of related manufacturing engineering experience
• Understanding of mechanical components for rotating machinery
• 6+ years of people leadership experience

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $126,100-$221,900 + 25% bonus in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
