Job Summary (List Format) – Senior Electronics Engineer – System Architect
- Lead the development of top-level electrical and electronic system architectures for Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) platforms from concept through integration.
- Perform hands-on electrical design, including circuit and subsystem development.
- Conduct trade studies to drive data-informed design decisions.
- Define and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and subsystem requirements for system compatibility and performance.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Guide electrical integration, testing, and validation activities to ensure reliable, high-quality UAS system performance.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause investigations in complex electronic systems.
- Select components from prototype development through to productization.
- Develop and maintain electrical subsystem requirements and documentation.
- Design PCBs, including schematic capture and layout using CAD tools (e.g., Altium).
- Work within aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments.
- May participate in design for manufacturing/assembly and embedded software development.
- Ensure compliance with system safety, EMI/EMC, and environmental qualification standards.
- Lead or support cross-functional system architecture efforts as needed.
- Report to work on-site in Irvine, CA, with less than 10% travel required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).
- Must comply with U.S. export control (ITAR) requirements.
- Physical ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments; ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field required.
- Competitive salary ($150,000–$210,000) plus performance bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
