    Description

    What You'll Do

    • Lead the electrical and instrumentation design efforts for industrial projects.
    • Coordinate and oversee a team of designers to ensure quality deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
    • Develop and review:
      • Single line diagrams
      • MCC elementary diagrams
      • Power distribution systems
      • Lighting and grounding plans
      • Cable schedules
      • Control panel layouts
      • Electrical installation details
    • Coordinate with engineering, process, mechanical, civil, and instrumentation teams throughout project execution.
    • Interface directly with clients regarding project scope, technical requirements, and design solutions.
    • Support field activities and startup efforts as required.
    • Mentor and develop junior designers while providing technical leadership within the department.
    • Assist with project planning, staffing forecasts, schedules, budgets, and construction cost estimates.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
    • 10+ years of industrial electrical and instrumentation design experience.
    • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, chemical, power, or process facilities.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
    • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
    • Experience developing:
      • Electrical one-lines
      • Equipment layouts
      • Cable tray and conduit routing
      • Lighting systems
      • Power distribution systems
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    Preferred

    • 15+ years of industrial E&I design experience.
    • Previous experience leading design teams or serving as a Lead Designer.
    • Experience with medium-voltage systems (5kV and 15kV).
    • Experience with PLC, HMI, and DCS systems.
    • 3D design experience.
    • Experience developing equipment specifications and construction estimates.
    • Experience supporting project planning, scheduling, and resource forecasting.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
